February General Update

Additional resources added to Perspective in February. To take advantage of these new resources, point your browser to:

o More Mathematics Tutoring Videos! Perspective has licensed math tutoring video from the videomathtutor.com. As noted in our last communication we continue to add more math tutoring videos to Perspective. Recently we added additional grade 8 videos.

o Perspective usage continues to grow with an average of 53 new users a day for the previous month. 28.8% of users spend 20 minuets or more on the site.

o 14 educators have placed a link to Perspective on their school or classroom Web page facilitating access by students and parents.

o Additional grade 5 and 6 reading resources from Scott Foresman were added to Perspective in February.

o Performance improved with clustered servers; our new clustered server architecture will enhance performance for current users and allow more concurrent users.

In March and April look for more exciting changes to Perspective as we look to add Teacher’s Guides to classic literature titles from Penguin and Signet Classics and more reading resources from Scott Foresman.

Oh, and we added this blog to enhance communication.

o New Mathematics Tutoring Videos! Perspective has licensed math tutoring video from the videomathtutor.com. These entertaining and engaging videos will begin rolling out in the Minnesota Perspective site in late January and will continue through March. Topics range from basic mathematics to Algebra.

o A new educator tutorial is now available for educators. Access the tutorial via the educator home page by clicking here. Click the view the tutorial link at the top of the page.

o Site visits were down during the holiday season with most visits occurring at the time of a recent meeting in Minnesota. We were pleased to welcome 38 new and unique visitors to the Educator site and 29 unique visitors to the Family site. Of the 29 visitors to the family site 24 were returning visitors.

In February we have been rolling out more Grade 5 and 6 reading resources as well as adding to our video library. Look for another update next week.
